Early morning, Chateaux d'Oex |
We stayed the night in a BnB at the village of Chateaux d'Oex and I explored the village the next morning while Gemma walked up a mountain trail that took her through a farmer's fields.

Our BnB host, Marc-Etienne, then offered to take us to the nearby town of Gstaad where only the rich and famous can afford to buy property so we accepted his offer. We had lunch there (didn't see Roger Moore or Julie Andrews, both of whom are residents) and a bit of a wander down the classy streets and then caught the train to Zurich, stopping off at Bern for a couple of hours on the way.
Bern was a bit of a surprise. The architecture in the old town is so different you wouldn't think you were in the same country. Every street is lined with stone buttressed colonades and it's only when only when you reach the river that the architectural style changes.
