I really, really wanted to see the Aletsch Glacier so we travelled down to the Valais area of Switzerland and stayed at a village called Fiesch. I travelled by cable car to the top of Eggishorn, a mountain with the most spectacular views of the glacier, while Glenn, Kat and Gemma hiked to the glacier. At the top there is a small cafe and a mountain hut with facilites so I was very happy. We all had a great day.

Looks like you're having a great trip so far. Another good trip in Switzerland is to take the rack railway from Wengen up to the Jungfraujoch, highest station in europe, and fantastic scenery! We stayed a week in Wengen in 1992 and I took the train up to see the Eiger glacier etc, while the others were skiing. Enjoy!
